Since opening nearly five years ago, Rum Bar has established itself as Philadelphia’s premier place for a Caribbean escape — with its island-influenced menu, extensive and accomplished cocktail program, and the city’s most comprehensive collection of rums.

Located just a stone’s throw from Rittenhouse Square, Rum Bar offers a pleasing balance between upbeat and intimate, lively, but laid back. Music ranges from contemporary rock ‘n’ roll to reggae to late-night lounge.

Rum Bar owner Adam Kanter spends several weeks every year in various Caribbean islands touring distilleries, tasting spirits, and discovering cuisines and techniques that he could utilize in his restaurant. The bar menu is extensive, featuring an ever-growing list of rums - broken down by flavor and location - nearly 20 mojitos and daiquiris that can be customized by each patron with their choice of rums, a Tiki menu, and a final portion that changes with the seasons.

The Latin-inspired food menu offers a versatile mix of simple, delicious starters and finger food, as well as extravagant, authentic cuisine. Starters range from Jerk Chicken Quesadillas and Jamaican Patties to Cuban Style Calamari and Nachos Fundido. The selection of entrees includes Vaca Frita, Mofongo, and Ropa Vieja.
